Location / Time
Location: Kanakpura/Hosur - Bengaluru
Arrival Time: 5 PM IST, Day 1
Departure Time: 10.30 AM IST, Day 2
Day and night activities
- Transport: Reach the Astro spot using your own transportation
- Settle In: Refresh and get comfortable
- Activities: Planned astro sessions, evening snacks, and a fun tractor ride
- Dinner: Enjoy a hearty meal
- Accommodation: Sleep in provided tents
- Photography: Capture starry night long-exposure pictures at midnight
- Next Day: Morning astro session and a Trek to a hill or take a walk
What to Bring:
- Warm clothing for the cool night
- Socks, monkey cap, jackets
- Water bottle and light snacks for kids
- Shoes for trekking, rough newspapers, and a small mat
- Photography equipment, charged batteries, and formatted cards
- Charged mobile phones with charger
- Extra set of clothes
- Sanitizer, masks, sun shades, umbrella, hat
- Swimming costume (if you want to use the pool)
- Regular medicines and a small first aid box
- A big smile when you join us 🙂
Important Notes:
- Handle astronomy equipment with care; they are precious gems.
- Use trek shoes for trekking and be cautious with kids and elders.

We understand that plans can change, and we strive to be as flexible as possible. Here’s our refund policy based on when you notify us:
- ✅ More than 6 days before the event – 100% Refund 🎉
🔹 No worries! Get a full refund when you cancel at least 7 days in advance. - 🌓 3 to 6 days before the event – 50% Refund 🌙
🔹 Since preparations are underway, you’ll receive half of your payment back. - 🚫 Within 2 days of the event (or same day) – No Refund 🌑
🔹 Unfortunately, cancellations at this stage cannot be refunded, as arrangements have already been finalized.

13 Apr 2025: Full Moon
The Full Moon occurs at 00:24 UTC, with its face fully illuminated as it aligns opposite the Sun. Early Native American tribes called it the Pink Moon, marking the bloom of wild ground phlox. It’s also known as the Sprouting Grass Moon, Growing Moon, Egg Moon, and Fish Moon.
21 Apr 2025: Mercury at Greatest Western Elongation
Mercury reaches its greatest western elongation of 27.4 degrees from the Sun, making it the best time to observe. It will be at its highest point above the morning horizon. Look for it low in the eastern sky just before sunrise.
22, 23 Apr 2025: Lyrids Meteor Shower
The Lyrids meteor shower peaks on the night of April 22 and the morning of April 23, producing about 20 meteors per hour. Created by dust from comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher, it runs annually from April 16-25. With a thin crescent moon, viewing will be best after midnight from a dark location, with meteors radiating from Lyra but visible across the sky.
27 Apr 2025: New Moon
The Moon will align with the Sun, making it invisible in the night sky. This phase occurs at 19:32 UTC. With no moonlight, it's the ideal time to observe faint objects like galaxies and star clusters.
Halley's Comet is the only short-period comet visible to the naked eye and returns approximately every 76 years. Its last appearance was in 1986, and it will return in 2061.

In the words of my son, “Very interesting and informative since we learnt so much about different planets.” The camp conducted by Mr. Deepak is indeed very insightful and engaging for kids as well as adults. Being able to view the fine details of Saturn and Jupiter was a sight. I would surely recommend this for all who have interest in the wonders of space.
