The Eta Aquarids is a strong annual meteor shower caused by debris from Halley’s Comet. It peaks this year on the night of May 6 and morning of May 7, with up to 60 meteors per hour in the Southern Hemisphere. Northern Hemisphere viewers can expect around 30 meteors per hour, especially after midnight from a dark location. A waxing gibbous moon may block fainter meteors, but brighter ones will still be visible with patience. Though meteors radiate from Aquarius, they can appear anywhere in the sky.
The Moon will be fully illuminated as it lies opposite the Sun, reaching peak fullness at 16:57 UTC. This phase is known as the Full Moon. Early Native American tribes called it the Flower Moon, marking the season of abundant spring blossoms. It’s also referred to as the Corn Planting Moon and the Milk Moon in various traditions. These names reflect seasonal changes and agricultural cycles tied to this time of year.
The Moon will be on the same side of Earth as the Sun and won't be visible at night.
This New Moon phase occurs at 03:04 UTC. With no moonlight, the sky remains dark and ideal for stargazing. It’s the best time of the month to view faint celestial objects like galaxies and star clusters. The absence of moonlight provides optimal conditions for deep-sky observation.
Venus reaches its greatest eastern elongation, 45.9 degrees from the Sun. This marks the best time to view the planet in the morning sky. It will appear at its highest point above the eastern horizon. Look for Venus shining brightly just before sunrise. Its visibility will gradually decrease as it moves closer to the Sun.

In the words of my son, “Very interesting and informative since we learnt so much about different planets.” The camp conducted by Mr. Deepak is indeed very insightful and engaging for kids as well as adults. Being able to view the fine details of Saturn and Jupiter was a sight. I would surely recommend this for all who have interest in the wonders of space.
